hi, there!
I’m Merce, Founder and Principal Designer at M|W Interiors. Originally from Spain, I’ve been proud to call Cairns home since 2010, where I live with my family.
My passion for interior design began early in life. As a child, I loved sketching floor plans with chalk, dreaming up renovation ideas with my mother, and imagining my perfect home. These early experiences sparked a lifelong enthusiasm for creating spaces that feel personal and meaningful.
Before establishing my design career, I worked as a Financial Advisor for 15 years. Eventually, I stepped away from the corporate world to focus on raising my children, a choice that allowed me to reflect on my true passions. Encouraged by my husband, I decided to pursue my love for interiors, balancing family life with home renovation projects while earning a Diploma in Interior Design. This journey gave me the technical foundation to transform my creative vision into a professional practice.
At Merce Walsh Interiors, I combine creativity and functionality to craft spaces that not only reflect each client’s unique aesthetic but also enhance their lifestyle. My approach is driven by a deep appreciation for thoughtful design and the joy of helping others create homes that are functional, beautiful and fit for real life.
